The Bavarian company Einhell manufactures inexpensive appliances for DIY and craftsmen. The range also includes hoovers. An Einhell hoover is versatile, because even the battery hoovers can act as wet and dry vacuum cleaners. The manufacturer offers both compact handheld hoovers and larger industrial vacuum cleaners. There are models with battery as well as with cable to choose from.

Einhell TC-VC 1930 SA

Multi-purpose vacuums are a great choice around the home, workshop, garage, basement or hobby room. They can cope with virtually any problem. A proven solution in this context is theEinhell TC-VC 1930 .

This wet and dry vacuum cleaner holds up to 30 litres, making it ideal for profligate measures. The container is made of stainless steel. Nevertheless, the vacuum cleaner weighs less than 7 kg, which is why it can be moved without complications. 2 large rear wheels and 2 front swivel castors also contribute to this. The floor nozzle can be used on hard floors as well as on carpets. It develops a suction power of up to 190 mbar.

Unfortunately, the mains cable is only 2.5 metres long. The operating radius is limited to a maximum of 5 metres, after which the power socket must be changed. That could certainly be improved. The other features include a crevice nozzle, which allows you to vacuum out even narrow crevices. A blowing function is also available. It is also worth mentioning that there is a socket for power tools directly on the device, which makes it an indirect extension, so to speak.

Einhell TE-VC 18/10 Li-Solo Power X-Change

The Einhell brand can also come up with innovative concepts. An interesting hand-held hoover is the Einhell TE-VC 18/10 Li-Solo .

This is also a battery hoover. In its box shape, it can stand securely almost anywhere. In addition, you can store all accessories directly on the housing. These include crevice, brush and upholstery attachments. Accordingly, virtually any surface can be adequately cared for. The device acts as a wet and dry vacuum cleaner, which is why it can be helpful everywhere in the household and workshop.

Since the Power-X-Change system is also installed here, the range can be extended almost infinitely – depending on how many batteries are available. Thanks to the ergonomic handle, you can move the 4 kg hand hoover comfortably. In addition to vacuuming, this device can also blow out dirt if necessary. Furthermore, the dirt container holds up to 10 litres, which is why you don’t have to interrupt your work too often.

Einhell TE-VC 18 Li-Solo Power X-Change

Cordless hoovers offer you the advantage of being able to move around without restrictions. Particularly agile is the Einhell TE-VC 18 Li-Solo .

This compact hand-held hoover is primarily suitable for the removal of selective problems. It weighs only 870 grams and can therefore be moved with absolute ease by women and senior citizens. The model can also be used for floor care via the enclosed extension tube. However, the tube is quite short, which means that taller people cannot adopt an ergonomic posture here. You can clean soft fabrics as well as hard floors with the included floor nozzle.

The scope of delivery also includes a crevice nozzle and an upholstery nozzle. The latter is very suitable for car seats or upholstered furniture, for example. Another praiseworthy feature of this compact hand-held hoover is that it can also pick up liquids. This is really rare for a cordless hoover. The waste is collected in a container with a capacity of 540 ml.

Currently, the company Einhell offers 19 different hoovers. These can be divided into 3 classes:

• A compact hand-held hoover with rechargeable battery (TE-VC 18)
• A cube-shaped workshop vacuum cleaner with rechargeable battery (TE-VC 18/10)

Commendably, even the small versions can pick up liquids. The multi-purpose vacuums are of course the first choice for cleaning surfaces. With them, you can quickly remove large amounts of debris in the workshop or at another work site.

The compact TE-VC 18 hand-held vacuum cleaner is a good choice for spot cleaning in the home. However, as it can also be used with a suction tube, it is also suitable for floor work around the interior and exterior.

The square TE-VC 18/10 workshop vacuum cleaner finds a secure footing everywhere. It is intended for moderate cleaning jobs in the household as well as in the do-it-yourself sector.

Attachment

The attachment must, of course, fit the conditions on site. There is no attachment that can cope with all requirements. Therefore, it is good that an Einhell hoover almost always comes with a comprehensive range of accessories, including several attachments.

A wide floor nozzle is the first choice for cleaning surfaces. With its help, you can clean large areas quickly. With Einhell, it can be used on both hard floors and carpets. Switching from wet to dry operation is a breeze.

A crevice nozzle is ideal for narrow crevices and drawers. It is narrow and can reach almost any corner. Where it gets even tighter, the blower function can be used.

Furthermore, an upholstery nozzle is often included with the purchase of an Einhell hoover. This is suitable for cleaning soft fabrics. Examples are car seats, beds, sofas and cushions.

Einhell also offers two separate surface brushes. These are suitable for cleaning stones.

Handling

Hardly anyone enjoys handling a hoover. Therefore, every manufacturer should try to provide the user with as much comfort as possible.

First and foremost, a light weight contributes to effortless handling. Even a large wet and dry vacuum cleaner from Einhell still weighs less than 15 kg. In addition, there are smooth-running furniture castors on the underside. In addition, 2 swivel castors ensure that changes of direction are uncomplicated.

In addition, the cordless hoovers give you total freedom of movement. With them, you can go directly to any place of your choice. The corded devices are less convincing in this context, as the Einhell cord is often only 4-5 metres long.

A wet and dry vacuum cleaner with a telescopic tube is usually height-adjustable. This means that people of all sizes can expect back-friendly use.

In addition, each model is equipped with a handle or a carrying handle. This means that it is no problem to change the floor.

The cable of an Einhell hoover can be wound up safely and clearly on a cable hook – without posing a tripping hazard.

Another convenient feature is the fact that the large containers have an outlet valve. This means you do not have to lift them to empty them.

Suction power

The suction power is definitely a decisive factor. It does not necessarily have to be high, but above all it has to suit your personal requirements. Especially with coarse particles such as broken glass, stones or cat litter, a high suction power is essential.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to reliably estimate the suction power using a specific number. A high wattage is not an automatic indicator of high suction power. In principle, it only defines the power consumption. Dubious manufacturers like to use high wattage figures as an enticement, but these often simply result in a poor energy balance. It is better to have low energy consumption and high suction power at the same time.

Promising parameters are, above all, the maximum volume flow, the maximum negative pressure and the AirWatt number. These do not necessarily have to be shown, but Einhell is transparent here. Some units work with a negative pressure of more than 200 mbar and can thus cope with almost any requirement.

In general, you can expect a hoover to provide good suction power if the following parameters are largely met:

• solid wattage
• high speed
• high-quality fan wheel
• durable windings
• air system that is not slowed down by the filter

Filter

The filter determines which types of particles can actually be retained. Most hoovers tend to have problems with fine debris. Sometimes this just gets stirred up and then gets back into the room – a potential nightmare for anyone with allergies.

If you want to remove fine allergens such as dust mites, pollen and animal hair with your wet and dry vacuum cleaner, you need a so-called HEPA filter. This is differentiated in the EU into 3 classes, which become increasingly impermeable and therefore more effective in a descending order:

• EPA filter (Efficient Particulate Air filter)
• HEPA filter (High Efficiency Particulate Air filter)
• ULPA filter (Ultra Low Penetration Air filter)

EPA filters are perfectly adequate in most households. This also applies to the workshop or garage. If you also want to remove fine allergens, you need a HEPA filter. This removes at least 99.95% of particles. An Einhell hoover can be equipped with a HEPA filter – but this is reserved for the higher-priced models (e.g. TE-VC 2340 SAC).

Energy consumption

Like other appliances, an Einhell hoover requires continuous electrical energy during operation. It draws this energy either directly from the socket or from a lithium-ion battery. Efficient models are always the first choice, because they are not only easy on your wallet in terms of running costs, but also on the environment.

The energy efficiency class label no longer has to be shown in the hoover segment. Therefore, you can see the consumption by looking at the power consumption, which in turn is shown in watts. The higher the wattage, the more electricity is consumed per unit of time.

While hoovers for household use now have to limit themselves to 900 watts, appliances for outdoors are not subject to this specification. Ultimately, you have to consider the relationship between the wattage and the suction power. There must be a balanced compromise here.

A Einhell hoover can have a large discrepancy in terms of consumption. While the small cordless hoovers consume less than 100 watts, the large wet and dry vacuum cleaners are sometimes over 2000 watts. All in all, there is good proportionality.

Volume

The noise level can be a significant factor. This is especially the case in the home and in sensitive environments. If the noise level is too high, it can have a negative impact on your relationship with your neighbours. In addition, your own stress level can suffer.

You can tell whether your desired model is quiet by the sound level, which is expressed in dB (decibels). Since 2017, the EU has only allowed hoovers for private use to be approved at a maximum of 80 dB. This means that hearing damage in adults can be largely ruled out. However, such a value cannot yet be classified as pleasant.
